Here are frequently asked questions along with potential solutions to help you address the issue on your own before reaching out to a plumber.

First check the Reset switch on the bottom of the appliance – red button push it in. If water is leaking out of the appliance turn off at the wall and unplug it. If this doesn’t work call your friendly plumber.

Are you getting water from the taps? If yes, then it’s an electrical problem and you will need to call an electrician.

The easiest way is with a plunger, but if you don’t have one fill the toilet with dish soap, add a pot of hot water, wait a few minutes then flush. The hot water should break through the blockage and the soap washes everything through the siphon and out the drain. If this doesn’t work it could be something more than a small blockage, indicating to give your plumber a call.

A running toilet is usually caused by the rubber flush washer or plastic fill valve in your cistern. Either the washer has failed and worn out or the fill valve has failed and is constantly filling. Open the cistern and adjust the float to see if the water stops 25mm below the overflow pipe. If the water doesn’t and continues to fill, you will need to replace the fill valve.

Open the cistern and put in a few drops of food colouring into the water. Check after around 15 minutes to see if the water colour inside the toilet bowl has changed you have a leak.

Check your water meter outside, take the reading and then again, a few hours later with no water usage. If the reading is higher then you have a leak and should call a plumber.

Leaking taps are usually caused by worn rubber washers and washer seats which do wear out over time. Replace your washer, if the tap still leaks, call a plumber.

Maintenance is necessary when there’s a persistent leaking tap or there’s a drain blockage, a blocked toilet or a toilet that continues to run. If your home DIY hasn’t fixed the problem or has low water pressure, then it may be time to call the plumber.

Soak in equal parts vinegar and hot water, this should dissolve the lime or calcium build-up from hard water which could distort the spray pattern.

It’s strongly advised that a registered plumber install all plumbing & gas items. If not your product warranty and possibly your home & contents insurance may be void. If there are any damages caused during the installation, a registered plumber is responsible to pay for these damages.
